About Me

MA graduate with ‘gold standard’ NCTJ Diploma in Multimedia Journalism and 100 wpm shorthand. My writing has covered social issues, geopolitics, public health, environmental affairs, music, travel and gender.

 

As I journalist, I have worked as a freelance features writer, staff reporter and photographer. In copywriter roles, I have created and edited company newsletters, SEO blogs, press releases and website marketing content.

Write and edit newsletters, articles, website content and press releases for marketing firm Orange and Gray's US clients, which has led to national coverage on NBC News and others.

April – August 2020
Byline Times: freelance journalist

Wrote features for Byline Times on dating behaviour under lockdown and the experience of nature-led, off-the-grid communities during the pandemic.

October 2019 – September 2020

Mancunian Matters: freelance journalist, photographer

Reported for Mancunian Matters on China’s presence in the UK, election protests, the homeless pandemic and responses to gentrification, using frequent FOI requests.

July November 2019

Viva Magazine, Now Then & Pink Wafer: freelance journalist

Wrote for independent culture publications Viva Magazine, Now Then and Pink Wafer on Manchester’s restaurant scene, artisanal producers and touring musicians.

October 2018 – May 2019

Scandinavia Standard: freelance journalist, photographer

Created arts and human-interest features, founded an interview series about Nordic nightlife, “Live from Copenhagen”, and wrote listicles on local events.
